Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Approves Freedom Plastics’ 24” C905 Pure Blue® Pipe

Having gone through the proper testing, the newest addition to the Freedom Plastics’ production line has been approved to carry the UL Listing Mark.

Freedom began production of 24” C905 DR18 and DR25 pipe earlier this year. Once production began, the process for approval by UL was underway and received shortly thereafter.

Pure Blue® DR18 and DR25 C905 pressure pipe will meet or exceed all performance specifications of AWWA C905-97, when tested in accordance with ASTM D-2122. Freedom Plastics’ Pure Blue® D905 pipe that is listed with FM and UL and meets the UL 1285 requirements is marked with the UL symbol. Pure Blue® pipe is listed with NSF under Standard 61 for toxicology and health effects.

The expansion of the product line offered by Freedom comes on the heels of the introduction of the molded small diameter dwv and pressure fittings as well as beginning production of Freedom-Flo® Foam Core pipe.

Freedom Plastics Inc. Announces New Molded Fitting Product Line

On January 10, 2007 Freedom Plastics, Inc. and Tigre entered into a joint venture to produce and distribute small diameter molded PVC fittings in North America.

The addition of Tigre’s molded fittings to Freedom’s current Schedule 40 PVC pipe and large diameter fittings will provide wholesalers with a single source for all their plumbing and irrigation PVC pipe and fitting needs.

Janesville, WI was selected for the location of the Tigre injection molding facility to take advantage of Freedom’s existing sales and distribution network. The new plant will house new injection molding machines, related manufacturing equipment, warehousing and office space. The plant will create new jobs and business opportunities in the Janesville area and plans are already in place to expand the manufacturing capabilities and add additional employees by 2008.
